"Ceci est Andy" is a conceptual portrait assembled through the lens of the manifesto and framework I build in order to understand what meaning and creativity still is in the Age of Intelligence. It is a mirrored progression introduced in Mirror Making of a Manifesto.

The 16-tile grid visually unfolds and then refolds along this creative axis, across analog and digital dimensions:

The title plays on Magritte’s famous phrase, “Ceci n’est pas une pipe,” reclaiming it for the generative age. Unlike Magritte, this is Andy. One of many. Yet also singular. Because even in a world of infinite replication, meaning only emerges when someone chooses to care, to name, to pause, to print.

Ceci est Andy.
Et c’est vous qui décidez.

"Ceci est Andy" connects directly with earlier works in the Andy Series:

  • Andy Triptych (2025) reinterprets Warhol’s Marilyn Diptych, shifting the gaze toward Warhol himself. Created after experimenting with digital avatars, it asks what repetition, identity, and originality mean today in a world where we curate ourselves through prompts and pixels.

  • Andy ad Infinitum (2025) is the logical end. In an age where machines can generate infinite Andys instantly and without intent, the project poses a different challenge: to find meaning not in the flood of images, but in the act of choosing. One Andy. Made real by human attention.

brought into form
by the simple act of attention and care.
